Homemade Almond Butter
If you have a food processor, homemade nut butters are within reach. And they are remarkably simple to make. For almond butter, I will grab a 1 lb. bag of roasted, unsalted almonds from Trader Joes. Dump that in your food processor with some salt and turn it on. It will sounds super loud at first, but then shift to a din. At a certain point, it will sound like the blade is spinning and not processing anything. That’s the tine when you have to open the lid and scrape down the sides. You probably only need to do this once. Start the food processor again and just let it go. For a long time. No seriously, longer. It’ll be about 5 mins. At first it will seem like nothing is happening, but slowly you’ll notice the nuts begin to stick and ball up.
